H.A.M.E. FUTURITY RULES

1. Nomination Fee for Mare Fee- $5.00 Due by February 1st (before foaling)

2. Sustain the Mare/Foal

Fee- $20.00   

Due 30 Days before the Futurity Show in order to show the foal that year. If not shown, then the sustaining fee due December 31st of the foaling year. Unborn foals may be sustained. If not sustained in year born, they cannot be paid up later, except geldings.

3. Sustaining the Yearling (Stallion, Mare, Gelding)

Full payment

4. Sustaining the 2 yr old (Stallion, Mare, Gelding)

Due by February 1st

5. Late Fee Penalty starts with the nomination of the YEARLING. If payments are not made by the deadline, you will have to pay a late penalty of a double fee except geldings.

6. Futurity Class Entry Fees- No entry fees with the futurity classes. All sustained horses are eligible.

7. Futurity Class Entry- Must be sent to the Futurity Secretary and received 14 days in advance of the Futurity Show.

8. Sustaining and Payback Schedule and Percentages:

Foal Year- 65% of the total Nominating and Sustaining Fees will be paid to the foal Classes, split 50/50 between colts and fillies. The remaining 35% will go the the Reserve Fund.
Yearling- 75% of the Sustaining Fee will be paid back, split 50/50 between Stallions and Mares. The remaining 25% will go the the Reserve Fund. Geldings will use the same formula and will be shown separately.
2 Yr. Old- 100% of the Sustaining Fees will be paid back, split 50/50 between the Stallions and Mares. Geldings will use the same formula and will be shown separately.

Class payback will be 1st through 6th place as follows-
Weanlings and yearlings:
1st- 30%
2nd- 24%
3rd- 19%
4th- 14%
5th- 9%
6th- 4%
* If the classes have fewer than 6 entries, then the remaining percentages will go to the Reserve Fund.

Class Payback for 2 yr. olds
100% for 1 entry
60/40% for 2 entries
50/30/20% for 3 entries
40/30/20/10% for 4 entries
40/25/20/10/5% for 5 entries
30/24/19/14/9/4% for 6 entries


9. All Futurity Checks will be given at the show or mailed within five days of the show.

10. The owner of any horse in the Futurity program must be a H.A.M.E. paid member. Anyone may show the horse, owner or non-member. If the horse in Futurity Program is sold, the new owner, if not already a member, must become a member to keep the horse in the Futurity Program. The original owner should send the transfer of ownership form to the Futurity Secretary/Treasurer.

11. H.A.M.E. accepts all registered Miniature Mares under 38" and the must be bred to class A stallions. Class A Foals height limit is 30", the Yearlings limit is 32", and the 2 Yr. Olds height limit is 33". All horses falling over the class A limit for their age will be shown in the combined B class. Class B stallions, one and two years, are recommended to be gelded and shown in combined Class A and B Gelding Class.

12. The location of the Futurity Show will be at a H.A.M.E. sponsored show, which will be decided by the paid membership of H.A.M.E. Ths club's show chairman will have the eligible shows to be voted upon at the OCTOBER meeting. This will enable everyone to know where and when the Futurity Show will be held before they nominate their mares. The date to be published in December.

13. A yearly financial report will be published in the newsletter.

14. Any money needed for postage, advertising, trophy purchases, etc., will be taken from the Reserve Fund, unless the membership votes take charge from the general H.A.M.E. treasury.

15. All Futurity money shall be kept by the Chairman or Secretary/Treasurer of the H.A.M.E. Futurity Program.
